Waterlab is a service laboratory that specializes in analytical chemistry and provides services in the various disciplines of water, being potable water, supply, sewage treatment, industrial effluents, acid mine drainage and underground water.

Waterlab requires the services of an experienced Analytical Chemist with a proven track record.

 

Minimum Requirements:

• BSc Degree in Chemistry or B Tech in Analytical Chemistry

• At least 10 Years working experience with ICP (MS or OES), non-negotiable

• Must be a South African Citizen

• Computer literate (MS Office)

 

Recommended Competencies/Skills inter alia:

• Analytical and Conscientious with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail

• Problem solving ability should be well honed

• Meticulous and organized – able to plan & multi-task

• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team

• Able to meet deadlines and be flexible with priority samples

 

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform daily Chemical analysis on samples;

• Evaluating analysed results/data

• Liaison with clients

• Assist in training of staff

• Preparation of laboratory documents

• Validation of methods

• Implement and maintain system in accordance with WLABQPPM and ISO17025

• Sample preparation

• Assist in preparation of reagents used for analysis

• Routine maintenance and calibration of instruments before analysis

• Assist in preparation of Quality Control solutions and standards

• Obtaining quotes ad ordering of chemicals/consumables

• Assist in sample reception & collection when required
